Introduction and My Favorite Interior Design
I am Mom, an Event Planner and Decorator. This blog will have posts about parties, celebrations, hospitality and home decor. I will share my visions and ideas, my inspirations and the pictures of how I see the world and add decorative touches to everyday life, parties and events.
I love to create a wow factor! I enjoy surprising people and seeing them happy with the touches I add to gatherings for friends and families, community events, events that I plan and decorate for my clients and in my own home.
I am an immigrant. I came from the Soviet Union. It was a restricted life with little possibilities. I am so grateful to be in a free country and to live in beautiful California with my family! Creativity is the way to express myself. I always planned kids concerts and parties when I was a child! I remember decorating my house from as little as 7 years old! I would make garlands out of paper for the holidays, bake with my friend and cook for the whole family!
I am especially fascinated with Scandinavian decor elements! I find them so simple and relaxing. At my home, in waiting rooms, malls or events, I love to see simplicity, comfort and natural decor items as plants, fresh flowers, wood and etc.
There are several characteristics of my favorite Scandinavian design:
Simplicity: Airy rooms with modern comfortable and light furniture
Natural muted colors: as white, grey, warm beige and blues throughout
Decluttered and Organized Spaces: Comfortable and relaxing spaces with smart organization
Greenery: Accent or statement plants and trees are used in Scandinavian design
Wood Accents: It is nice to have wood because we live in the mountains and it is the main decorative and practical element to be used for indoor and outdoor furniture.
Less is More: Less pillows and decorative items, more plants and more light, less plastic and more wood, a couple of couch pillows instead of 10 and one fur throw blanket, comfortable side tables instead of a large coffee one, wood toys in playrooms and lots of natural light! Oh, love Scandinavian design!
